Hi ya'll...
I am Janelle aka Sketcher. I was born and raised in Texas.
A conformist with a secret Bohiemian spirit just bursting to get out.
This site is my escape. Please feel free to browse and let me know
what you think...honest opinions only, please.
Art is subjective to each individual so it doesn't matter if you
love or hate my work. My goal is to wake you up and make you FEEL!
I believe that boredom is the ultimate sin in art.

What I'm interested in:
- Art
I especially love the sensualism of Georgia Okeefe,
the clean, classic interpretations of Frank Lloyd Wright
and the surrealism of Salvador Dali. I think that these
are my strongest influences and even though I can never
hope to reach the great talent of these beautiful artists,
I can see their shadows in my own style.
- Children's Literature
At a young age I was captivated by the beautiful magic
created in children's books. They were my own personal
escape into the most amazing places. To this day I am an
avid reader of everything from Hemingway to Steven King,
but I never outgrew that childish magic and it is always a
thrill to visit the children's section of the book store.
Such wonderful things are always happening there.
- Sewing and Needlework
It is very satisfying to create something
beautiful and functional with your own two
hands. If you can then bring pleasure to
someone with your handiwork the satisfaction
is boundless.
